Is it too late for a Business/Marketing plan for 2019?
The answer is no. A better question is do you need a business or marketing plan at all? The answer is probably still no…unless you need money. Maybe a business or Marketing Model (what we would call an annual plan) would be best.
Business plans and marketing plans are tools used in the corporate world to display a structured, unified program for operating and growing your business that makes the financial world confident in their investments. If you’re looking for a loan, investors, partners or planning a joint venture; than a business and marketing plan is a must for 2019. If not, what you need is a business and marketing model.
Models are less structured than plans. While they still have quantitative (money and numbers) and qualitive (programs, branding, technology) goals, they are less road mapped and more flexible than plans. Models take more of a plan = goals = roadmap = attainable success approach that is usually visited and adjusted quarterly. Remembering that plans, like dreams, are just fantasies without steps taken to achieve them, models allow the goals and steps more amenable to change.
